Corporate Innovation Programs
in the U.S.

elpis labs team 595858.png

Corporate innovation programs help companies identify emerging technologies, work with startups, and test new solutions against real business challenges.

Elpis Labs works with corporations in the U.S. to structure innovation programs around specific business priorities. Depending on the objective, programs can include technology landscape research, global startup sourcing, startup evaluation, curated meetings, innovation challenges, PoC design, pilot implementation, and access to relevant innovation ecosystems.

The right corporate innovation program depends on the company's objective.

Organizations looking to identify new technologies may start with technology scouting and market research. Companies with a defined business challenge may use startup scouting or an innovation challenge to identify relevant solutions. Teams that already have promising technology providers can move directly into validation, proof of concept, or pilot implementation.

Companies looking for corporate innovation programs in the U.S. can work with specialized innovation firms, startup accelerators, venture-client organizations, technology scouting partners, and local innovation ecosystems.

Elpis Labs supports corporate innovation teams across this process, from identifying relevant technologies and startups to facilitating meetings, structuring pilots, and supporting commercial collaboration.

Open Innovation for Corporations and Startups

elpis labs team 59585887.png

Open innovation is an approach in which companies collaborate with external startups, technology providers, universities, research institutions, and other ecosystem partners instead of relying only on internal R&D.

A typical open innovation process starts with defining a business challenge or strategic priority. It then moves through technology research, startup scouting, validation, meetings with selected companies, proof of concept, and pilot implementation.

Elpis Labs supports this process by helping corporations identify and evaluate relevant startups and by helping both sides move from initial discovery toward practical commercial collaboration.

Startup scouting is most effective when it is connected to a clear path toward validation and implementation.

The process usually begins with defining the corporate business challenge, technology requirements, and success criteria. Relevant startups are then sourced and evaluated based on solution fit, technology maturity, commercial readiness, integration requirements, and ability to work with enterprise customers.

Selected startups can then move into meetings with the corporate team, technical validation, proof-of-concept development, or a pilot in a controlled business environment.

A structured corporate innovation process can follow seven stages:

  1. Define the business challenge and expected outcome.

  2. Identify relevant technology categories and solution requirements.

  3. Source startups and technology providers.

  4. Evaluate technical and commercial fit.

  5. Select solutions for a proof of concept or pilot.

  6. Measure agreed technical and business KPIs.

  7. Decide whether to scale, procure, invest, or establish a longer-term commercial partnership.

It is a very complete program... it allows different industries to benefit from the experience because it’s not 100% focused on just one niche. It connects you with different actors: institutions, entrepreneurs, investors, and potential clients. The program is a great instance to reconnect and learn how to better enter the U.S. market, ensuring the team is up-to-date and ready for the challenge.

We managed to close a deal with a major financial provider in the U.S. . They’ve opened the doors for us to start operating as brokers across the entire United States. Although we couldn't meet during the physical tour due to scheduling, the contact was generated there, we followed up digitally, and the meeting was highly effective.

We now have a list of about 10 potential providers waiting for us.
